AEF Has Transitioned to a Fully Remote Workforce Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic
COVID-19 has drastically changed the way many of us live, work and interact with one another. We are all impacted by the changes forced upon us due to this virus. AEF is here with you during this time.
HOW CAN YOU HELP MAKE A DIFFERENCE DURING THIS TIME?
Regardless of the organizations individuals choose to support in the fight against COVID-19 (or any cause one chooses to support in the near term), giving directly can generate faster impact for charities during critical charitable needs.
A donor advised fund creates philanthropic impact best when used for long term giving strategies. We encourage our donors to speak with their financial advisors when making this decision on how best to give.
Listed below are organizations we are aware of in which direct donations can aid in the battle against COVID-19:
OTHER WAYS INDIVIDUALS CAN HELP
- Volunteer: Nonprofits may face shortages of volunteers able to deliver services. Reaching out to nonprofits to ask if there are needs you can safely support. Healthy, low-risk individuals may be able to help fill gaps in delivering direct services, such as packing or delivering meals to the elderly. Additionally, nonprofits may have other needs that can be supported remotely and safely. As we emerge from this crisis, volunteering your time will be needed more than ever.
- Encourage: This is the time to use your ability to influence for social good. Be an advocate for those charities you are passionate about. Also encourage your friends, family, and colleagues to support organizations in need.
- Plan your charitable support: If you don’t have a charitable plan in place, consider creating one. Many organizations will need funds to support continuing operations. These funds can lose their impact if given sporadically. A thoughtful charitable plan can ensure your charitable dollars impact organizations you care most about instead of diluting your gifts. Being proactive instead of reactive with your giving will make your impact stronger.
At AEF, we look forward to providing the resources and tools our donors and advisors may need now in the present and in the future.
